The Darkest Passion by Gena Showalter

The Darkest Passion:
For weeks, the immortal warrior Aeron has sensed an invisible female presence. An angel--demon-assassin--has been sent to kill him. Or has she? Olivia claims she fell from the heavens, giving up immortality because she couldn't bear to harm him. But trusting--and falling for--Olivia will endanger them all. So how has this "mortal" with the huge blue eyes already unleashed Aeron's darkest passion?

Now, with an enemy hot on his trail and his faithful demon companion determined to remove Olivia from his life, Aeron is trapped between duty and consuming desire. Worse still, a new executioner has been sent to do the job Olivia wouldn't....

Gena Showalter never disappoints when it comes to her Lords of the Underworld series, and with this, the fifth installment, I have to say that I'm falling hard for these men. Each book delves deeper into the plot the Titan god, Cronus, has planned for the Lords, and with each new twist I demand to know more. In Aeron's story, Olivia has sacrificed everything to be with him and one major obstacle standing in her way is Legion, the demon Aeron freed from hell, signing his death warrant. Protecting Aeron from the repercussions of her decision and convincing Aeron that he needs her are Olivia's only goals in the limited time she has to be with him before she is forced to return home. Things take a turn for the worse when Legion makes a life altering deal that could be fatal for Aeron, Olivia and the rest of the Lords. Meanwhile, Galen, the leader of the Hunters and enemy of the Lords is getting closer, and has in his possession one of the two remaining artifacts the Lords are searching for in order to defeat Galen and the Hunters. Olivia is captured by Galen and Legion tries to convince Aeron that Olivia has returned to the Heavens, but Aeron is not easily convinced. Olivia's friend and mentor comes to avenge Olivia's treatment and to save Olivia, the Lords and even Legion, Aeron must make the biggest sacrifice of all.

  1. I've not read this series BUT I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of Unraveled. I LOVED Intertwined and can't wait to see what happens next.

  2. I adore this series! Aeron's story was one of my favorites so far. I really liked Olivia so that made the story for me. Usually the heroines begin to grate on me, but I liked her quite a bit. I love Gideon and liked his story, but I was not a fan of Scarlet. Looking forward to seeing what you think of that one!
