Crimson Moon by J.A. Saare

Crimson Moon:
Trueblood vampires. Those set apart from common’s by right of blood. Graced with extraordinary abilities such as telepathy, clairvoyance, and precognition - they are the most powerful and feared among their kind. The secret lies within, a legacy evolving from the truest form of magic, and their living bloodlines are the key.

An average morning is what Emma Johnson envisions when she visits Joe’s Café for a steaming cup of coffee. But the world isn't the place she imagined it to be, and neither is she…

After Emma is rescued from a horde of bloodthirsty creatures, she discovers she is the daughter of a powerful Vampire from the House De Viard, her rescuer, Caleb, having been sent to see her safely home. For Caleb is also unique, a werewolf procured to protect the royal Vampiric bloodlines from harm - but nothing more.

Soon, the undeniable connection Emma and Caleb share evolves beyond attraction into something unexpected. When she is forced to make a choice, what path will she take - vampire or wolf?

This is my first experience reading the work of J.A. Saare, and if all her work is as engaging as this book was, then count me in! As you all know by now, I absolutely adore werewolves, and this book has been added to my list of favorites! From the very beginning of this book I was drawn into the pages and unable to put it down. The characters are engaging and the confusion that Emma feels makes her easy to relate to as she tells her story. Finding out you are the long lost daughter of a powerful vampire can be a total life changing experience, but when your rescuer is a werewolf and you suddenly find yourself bonded to him, well that complicates things a little bit. After a hot, yet tender, whirlwind romance Caleb and Emma are forced apart by the circumstances of her bloodline and for her to finally meet her father at an undisclosed location she must go alone with only the accompaniment of a complete, way too good looking, stranger, Trent, who tries his best to tempt Emma. Before she leaves the only home she has ever known, Emma is attacked and Caleb lets her go without a fight, thinking that she will be safer with her family rather than if she were to stay with him. But the vampires have other ideas when Emma's hidden talents are revealed, and it's a fight for her freedom and who has the right to claim her.
