Stargazer by Claudia Gray

Stargazer:
The vampire in me was closer to the surface...

Evernight Academy: an exclusive boarding school for the most beautiful, dangerous students of all—vampires. Bianca, born to two vampires, has always been told her destiny is to become one of them.

But Bianca fell in love with Lucas—a vampire hunter sworn to destroy her kind. They were torn apart when his true identity was revealed, forcing him to flee the school.

Although they may be separated, Bianca and Lucas will not give each other up. She will risk anything for the chance to see him again, even if it means coming face-to-face with the vampire hunters of Black Cross—or deceiving the powerful vampires of Evernight. Bianca's secrets will force her to live a life of lies.

Yet Bianca isn't the only one keeping secrets. When Evernight is attacked by an evil force that seems to target her, she discovers the truth she thought she knew is only the beginning....

Clauda Gray's Evernight series becomes even more intense in this second book, it was page-turning, action packed and full of romance. I loved reading Bianca's character as she becomes more independent, and getting to know Balthazar was a real treat! Lucas is still very much on Bianca's mind and she will stop at nothing to see him. Balthazar and Bianca devise a plan and leave the school frequently to meet up with Lucas, and in hopes of finding Balthazar's missing sister, Charity. After a terrible incident involving another student, Bianca returns to the school angry and hurt by some of the things Lucas has said about her people. Her hopes of finding comfort with her parents and the familiarity of the school are dashed when she is attacked by wraiths haunting the school. She is forced to put her safety in the hands of the school's headmistress, Ms. Bethany, when an attack nearly takes her life. Her trust with her parents is broken when she discovers her parents are still keeping life changing secrets from her. The Black Cross vampire hunters lay siege against the school after being tricked by Charity into believing the vampires planned on slaying the human students and Bianca is caught in the middle between hiding the truth from the Black Cross and returning to Evernight Academy to help her parents rebuild their lives.

  1. I loved this book! Hourglass is my most favorite among the series. I hope you like it too, and so is Afterlife! It's my least favorite, but I still like it.
