My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie of The Unread Reader, in which we swoon over boys in books!
(I--as in me, Amy--don't like to use commercial photos, I like to use the authors' descriptions and my imagination.)
Rio
Book: Beautiful Dreamer by Elizabeth Lowell
His Native American heritage marks him as a half-breed, and keeps him from believing he deserves the love of a 'white' woman. Until he saves the woman he loves from the clutches of a brutal man. His skin is dark, almost mahogany, well over six feet tall, long-limbed and wide shouldered. Hair as blue-black as a raven's wing, and with eyes as dark in their surprising intensity. He is a man fully alive to all of his senses and his voice is deep, calm, subtly gentled by a southwestern drawl.
Quotes:
His smile gleamed briefly in the dying light. His eyes were even darker now, as mysterious and radiant as the twilight expanding throughout the land. "It isn't fair that you have to do the work of three men just to hang on to your ranch."
Just as she nerved herself up for a chilly dash to the linen closet, the bathroom door opened. Rio's hand appeared. A thick, soft towel dangled from his fist.
"Missing something?"
"Brrr," she answered.
He came in and closed the door behind him so that the steamy warmth couldn't escape. Then he held the towel wide in silent invitation. She stepped into it, and his arms. He kissed her until it was impossible to know whether her flushed skin came from the hot bath or from the even hotter passion he called from her.
I love the quote.
ReplyDeleteHe sounds delicious. Elizabeth Lowell is good at writing alpha heroes that don't go over the top, too. I'm gonna have to check this one out.
ReplyDeleteVery cool pick! And yet another book I need to add to my TBR list. :)
