Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead

Spirit Bound:
Dimitri gave Rose the ultimate choice. But she chose wrong…

After a long and heartbreaking journey to Dimitri’s birthplace in Siberia, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir’s—and to her best friend, Lissa. It is nearly graduation, and the girls can’t wait for their real lives beyond the Academy’s iron gates to begin. But Rose’s heart still aches for Dimitri, and he's out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance. And now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and she knows in her heart that he is hunting her. And if Rose won't join him, he won't rest until he's silenced her...forever.

In the fifth book of the Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead, Dimitri has followed Rose back to St. Vladimir’s and is just waiting for her to leave the protection of the grounds so he can finish what he started back in Siberia, either to turn her Strigoi or kill her. With a chance to save Dimitri's soul, Rose is willing to risk anything, and with the help of her friends conducts a prison break of their mortal enemy, Victor, the man that tortured her best friend, Lissa. He has access to another Spirit-user like Lissa, his brother, Robert, who had been rumored to have saved a Strigoi in the past. Dimitri finds Rose and her friends and stages an attack, giving Victor and Robert the perfect chance to escape. And after learning what they can from Victor's brother, it's not long before Lissa has to put that information into practice, she must be the one to pierce Dimitri's heart before infusing him with her healing light. I loved how much Adrian's character has grown; he's changed from the shallow person we first met into a genuinely loveable man. Rose as always kicked some major butt and has to face a really hard decision as to what her future might hold, and after being arrested for treason--she's not sure if she'll have a future at all.
