Show No Mercy by Cindy Gerard

Show No Mercy:
THE SULTRY HEAT...

Only two things can compel journalist Jenna McMillan back to Buenos Aires after terrorists held her captive there just months before: a rare interview with a shadowy billionaire and the memory of the dark and dangerous man who saved her....

HIDES THE DEADLIEST THREATS...

Bad guys, bombs, and bullets are Gabriel Jones's way of life. But he'll never forget the brash redhead he rescued not so long ago...or the passionate kiss they shared before he sent her packing....

AND EXPOSES THE DEEPEST DESIRES.

Now, forced together by a bombing at the National Congress, Jenna and Gabe confront the urgent longings that simmer between them. But this surprise meeting is no coincidence. A ruthless enemy stalks them with deadly precision. The question is...if they make it out alive, will Gabe turn his back on Jenna...again?

This is my first time reading Cindy Gerard, and let me tell you: I will be reading more of her books, especially the ones in this series. This book starts out with plenty of action and it's practically non-stop on every page. Each character was well developed, and I hope to learn more of the secondary ones as well. Cindy created a heart-racing, blood-pumping, hot and steamy, page-turning story that had me completely captivated.

Jenna is hiding from her life, and after a terrible ordeal in Argentina leaves her disillusioned about her career she is afraid to travel outside her safety zone. But now she must return to prove to herself that she can regain her confidence in herself--and just maybe she will be able to confront Gabriel Jones. Upon arriving in Argentina, Jenna is immediately thrown into danger as a nearby car bombing nearly takes her life, and it's none other than Gabe that saves her life. Gabe is a hard man, an alpha, and someone who hides behind the adrenalin educing life of a mercenary in order to avoid facing his feelings. After losing someone he cared deeply for, he believed there would never be anyone else, that is until Jenna comes into his life. The harder Jenna fights to be with Gabe, the harder he pushes her away. And after a final showdown with an enemy thought to have been destroyed, Gabe nearly loses his life in the process of saving Jenna. But he still refuses to acknowledge that his heart belongs to her, afraid that the damage from the attack will destroy more than just his body.
