Friday 56...The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner (10)

The book today: The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer

A little stunned, I followed from a few yards behind, remembering to put the distance between us that I would put between myself and anyone else.

The Friday 56 idea came from… The Bookoholic Zone

The Rules:

* Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
* Turn to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of this blog.
* Post a link along with your post back to this blog.
* Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

  1. I don't know why I love stuff like this (and Teaser Tuesday!) so much, but I sure do.

    Mine is from "The Instant" (as in, the "instant" before death) by Merih Turkdogan, an ebook I found. It's the story on one man's death, which takes but a second, but which leads to fascinating interesting encounters during that second. A one-second death is quite a lot longer than you think.

    [[Sixteenth split-second

    This was the instant of second illumination, which comes five illuminations before the Great Enlightenment.

    Herr Zimmermann felt more fresh air blowing toward him from some unknown source, clearly enhancing his state of joy. He was feeling happier now—and also more complete.

    He felt himself grow impatient to see what more was to come.]]
