Sunday Odds & Ends (1)

Although this is usually Sarah’s bloggy spot, she has been extremely busy and has not been around for a while. So I’m going to do an Odds & Ends post to fill in the gaps so to speak.

This is something I’ve been thinking of doing for a while now, and I just happened by Electrifying Reviews and noticed that Alex also does a similar meme. (I don’t want to take credit for a meme already in existence.) I love books, you all know that, but I thought that sometimes it would be nice to talk about other things that I love as well.
As usual, my lists are always in no particular order.

A Few T.V. Shows I Love

Orange is the New Black
The series revolves around Piper Chapman, a bisexual woman living in New York City who is sentenced to 15 months in a women's federal prison for transporting a suitcase full of drug money to her former girlfriend, Alex Vause, who is an international drug smuggler/mule. The offense occurred ten years prior to the start of the series, and in that time Piper had moved on to a quiet, law-abiding life among New York's upper middle class. While in prison, Piper is reunited with Alex (who named Piper in her trial – resulting in her arrest), and they re-examine their relationship and deal with their fellow inmates.

Penny Dreadful
Some of literature's most terrifying characters, including Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, and iconic figures from the novel Dracula are lurking in the darkest corners of Victorian London. PENNY DREADFUL is a frightening psychological thriller that weaves together these classic horror origin stories into a new adult drama.

Orphan Black
Sarah, an orphan outsider on the run from a lifetime of bad decisions, witnesses the suicide of a stranger who looks just like her. Sarah assumes her identity hoping that cleaning out the dead woman’s bank account will solve all of her problems. Instead, the street-smart chameleon is thrust headlong into a kaleidoscopic mystery. After taking on the new identity, Sarah quickly finds herself caught in the middle of a deadly conspiracy and must race to find answers.

Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones roughly follows the storylines of books written by George R.R. Martin. Set in the fictional Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, the series chronicles the violent dynastic struggles among the realm's noble families for control of the Iron Throne. As the series opens, additional threats emerge in the icy North and in the eastern continent of Essos.
