The Heartbreakers Blog Tour Day 3

In a paragraph or two:
1. Tell us about your most romantic experience (either as an adult or as a teenager).

When I was teen, a guy had a crush on me. He wrote the most magnificent love letters and called me “princess.” He offered to be my knight in shining armor and always said, “Your wish is my command.” Every day, along with a note telling me how special I was, I’d find a small gift in an unexpected place. It might be a favorite candy, a library book I was dying to read, a copy of a favorite song, a picture with an inspirational caption, a rose, a coupon for an ice cream cone. It was so much fun to anticipate what might show up and where I’d find it.

2. Which literary character embodies true romance to you?

The love stories I find most enchanting are fairytales where characters are physically transformed by love, but their true beauty originally came from their hearts. Two tales that embody this are Beauty and the Beast and The Legend of Scarface.

Amy, thanks so much for having me on your blog for the Heartbreakers Tour! I really appreciate you taking the time to interview me.

Wow, this is the hardest question of all! I’ve been pondering the answer for three days now, and keep coming back to this:
At the risk of sounding incredibly cheesy, honestly every day is a romantic experience for me. My husband, Chris, isn’t the type to buy me flowers (our cats would just eat them, anyway) or boxes of chocolate (they give me migraines, anyway), but he and I just fit, you know? There’s no one in the world I’d rather travel with, or watch TV with, or anything-in-between with. He’s patient when I’m frustrated, tells me I’m beautiful when I know I’m raggedy, and talks me down from my worst fits of temper.

Plus, he always knows the perfect moment to say those three little words: “Let’s get takeout.”

2. Which literary character embodies true romance to you?

Tough question! I’ll say the first one that comes to mind: Augustus Waters from The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. He’s smart and funny and hot and vulnerable. The things he says just skewer my heart.
