My Book Boyfriend (78)

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie of The Unread Reader, in which we swoon over boys in books!
(I--as in me, Amy--don't like to use commercial photos, I like to use the authors' descriptions and my imagination.)

Tamani deRhoslyn
Book: Spells by Aprilynne Pike
Series: Wings

A faerie sentry with deep-green eyes, almost too vibrant to be real, and cheekbones clearly defined under smooth, tanned skin. His hair is thick, rather long and black with the roots the same brilliant green as his eyes. A soft, gentle smile that can make your breath catch. His athletic body moves with a catlike grace rarely seen among young men, and he's filled with a fierce, protective nature for those he loves most.

Quotes:

"Why do you think David bothers me so much?"

Laurel looked down at her lap.

"I can't just storm in and proclaim my intentions. I can't 'steal' you away. I just have to wait and hope that, someday, you'll ask."

"And if I don't?" Laurel said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Then I guess I'll be waiting forever."

"I will be careful," Laurel promised. I have been careful." She stood for a few moments, and this time it was Tam who stepped forward first, his arms twining around her, holding her tight, his face against her neck.

"Come back soon," he murmured. "I miss you."

As Laurel approached, Tamani stood motionless, his eyes following her. He didn't speak until she stopped in front of him, close enough that he could have reached out and pulled her to him if he tried.

"I wasn't sure you'd come," he said, his voice breaking a little, as if he hadn't spoken in a long time. As if he had stood out in the cold all night waiting for her.

  2. Dreamy! Sounds like a great hero! Thanks, Amy! I'm amazed at how MBB always introduces me to these great-sounding new books that I haven't heard of before. Thanks! And I'm with you... now that I've been updated on the pic discussion. I generally prefer the author's description and... what a time saver, not trying to come up with the perfect pic to match it! Thanks for sharing your MBB this week, Amy! ~Serena @edgy inspirational romance
