My Book Boyfriend (63)

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie of The Unread Reader, in which we swoon over boys in books!
(I--as in me, Amy--don't like to use commercial photos, I like to use the authors' descriptions and my imagination.)

Hunter of the Wolf
Book: Comanche Moon by Catherine Anderson
Series: Comanche

His sharply defined lips and lopsided grin are heart-stopping, a Comanche warrior in the late 1800's. He wears the symbol of the wolf even though he is not chief and lives his life according to his People. He lives his life with honor, and when some are too weak to fight for their own he will fight for them. Tall and broad shouldered, sharp, high cheekbones and indigo blue eyes set him apart from the other warriors.

"You will be warm with me in my lodge? I have many buffalo robes. And plenty of food. Meat, yes? And my strong arm will protect you, forever into the horizon. There is nothing to fear." He pressed his hand more firmly against her midriff. "My tongue does not make lies. It is the truth I speak, not penende taquoip, the honey talk, but a promise. I have spoken the words, and they are carried away on the wind to whisper to me always. You will trust? When I go away on hunting trips, my brother's strong arm will be yours. No harm will come to you."

His lips trailed to her temple, lingered there, his breath a warm mist in her hair. For a long while he was silent, and then he said, "My arm is yours to lean upon for always. Until snow comes to your hair, eh? For always, until I am dust in the wind."

"No shame," he whispered, bending to kiss her neck, his fingertips trailing down her arm, setting her skin afire. "Sweet, Blue Eyes. Pe-nan-de, honey. Trust this Comanche."
