1. Could you tell us a little bit about the world you created in Freaksville?
Kasey lives a world very much like our own, except there are Lycans and Valkyries. What’s not normal about that?
2. Would you be willing to tell us where you see the series going?
It’s gone deeper than I originally planned. A little darker, less humor. My writing has grown so much, but so has Kasey. She’s matured from Freaksville to Furry & Freaked. Discovering that the world around her has paranormal elements changed her.
3. Which of your own characters do you most enjoy writing?
I had a lot of fun with Ruby. Kasey’s ghost guide. I just love her snark.
4. Which of your characters do you find most difficult to write?
They all come pretty easily. I’m a character writer. I develop them first then the plot. Josh gave me some trouble, trying to get the British accent to come across on paper. I heard it so clearly in my head.

1. Could you tell us a little bit about the world you created in Don't Die Dragonfly?
Nona’s farm is based on my love of living in the country. We have horses, cats, pigs, dogs and wild birds flying by. I had Sabine’s family live in San Jose because that’s where my husband used to live and my sister still lives there. I put Sheraton Valley between Sacramento and Stockton like Galt, where I used to live. I change it from a flat farmland city to rolling hills, more like where I live now on 25+ acres.
2. Would you be willing to tell us where you see the series going?
I was so lucky to have six books in THE SEER series. My publisher ended the series at 6 books but offered me the opportunity to continue some characters in a spin-off with Thorn. I was thrilled to write about Thorn, and her book BURIED comes out in March.
3. Which of your own characters do you most enjoy writing?
Probably Sabine because I know her so well. I’ve continued her story in two short stories, one is on my website and the other PHANTOM OF THE PROM comes out in an anthology from Leap Books soon, SPIRITED.
4. Which of your characters do you find most difficult to write?
Thorn was very hard to write at first. She kept sounding too much like Sabine. So I rewrote until her harder edges came out in my words. It’s also hard for me to write guys … since I’ve never been one. I base male characters on memories of old boyfriends, my husband and my son.
