Wednesday Random Recommendation...(1)

Drum roll please...I am going to try something to help all us readers out there get past the "slump" of the middle of the week that is Wednesday, and get us looking forward to the weekend by posting a random book I have read (I don't claim to be the first with this idea - I have no idea if anyone else is doing it - but it is something new for me!). I invite and welcome anyone interested in participating to post their own "Random Recommendation" on their blog (and include a link back to this blog) and join in the fun! Some books might not be very recent reads, but I hope that just helps these (sometimes forgotten) books earn a spot on your own bookshelf!

SHIVER by Maggie Stiefvater
For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human ... until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

I read this book when it first came out in August of 2009, and now with all of the talk about the next book in the trilogy, LINGER (which I am desperate to read!) it has made me start thinking of the journey I first took with Sam and Grace in Shiver, and so I simply wanted to share my recommendation of this book with anyone who is interested in werewolves and romance!
